This year's new TVs are the next step in a decade of evolution made by Hitachi. Since the dawn of the 21st century, Hitachi has worked tirelessly to make TVs that are larger, thinner, and better-looking than those that came before.

In 2000, it achieved the goal of developing a large-screen, wall-mounted TV with the very first ALIS (Alternating Lighting of Surfaces) 42 inch plasma TV. ALIS Panels significantly increase resolution by bringing the individual elements of the picture closer together, resulting in a line count that's more than twice that of the conventional VGA screen. What you see is an even more lifelike and dazzling image. And as broadcasters and movie studios make the switch to hi-definition (HD) content, Hitachi's advanced Plasma TVs have offered an all new option for home viewing entertainment.

Our picture-quality innovations extend to the world of LCD. The newly-developed IPS-Alpha panel on Hitachi LCD TVs greatly enhances brightness and clarity to offer a wider viewing angle and significantly less trail and fuzziness for moving images.
