Innovative Technology : Super-slim Components

The Hitachi's Ultra Thin LCD Series has been re-engineered from the inside out using pioneering technologies to create a profile of just 35mm (a third of the depth of conventional LCDs*1). This radical design enables users to position the TVs wherever they like without compromising the viewing experience, and saving an extraordinary amount of space.
Every individual component within this unique set has been cleverly streamlined and miniaturized to produce the smallest and most efficient version that could be achieved. The result is a model that is as easy to mount on the wall as a framed picture, and at a mere 10.9kg*2 offers enormous flexibility for innovative placement.

Newly Developed Thin Power Unit

The Ultra Thin LCD series owes its extremely thin profile to a combination of radical innovations, including a newly developed thin power unit by Hitachi Media Electronics Co., Ltd. This power unit is just 1/3 the thickness of Hitachi's conventional power unit, a compact size achieved through high-density circuit board technology and optimization power efficiency.

Ultra Thin LCD Module

The diffusion board spreads the fluorescent lamp that forms the backlight of the LCD panel evenly to achieve a thinner profile. Hitachi also incorporated In Plane Switching (IPS) technology into the Ultra Thin LCD series to improve on-screen performance.

With this panel, we optimized the backlight structure and improved the light output from each cell to produce truer color and more distinct contrast than any other LCD technology. The IPS panels also minimize the amount of power consumed by the Ultra Thin LCD series.

Fanless Ventilation System

Hitachi's cutting-edge heat radiation technology utilizes a fanless cooling method. Adapted from ventilation systems featured in mainframe servers, this method uses analytic airflow and an analytical heat system. The advantage of this new cooling system is that the unsightly grilles seen on the rear of other sets have been replaced by unobtrusive top and bottom vents, giving the back of the units a sleeker, more refined appearance. Also, it is designed to cool efficiently without excess heat production, even when wall-mounted.

Ultra Thin, Ultra Light Frame

Hitachi's unique rigid frame structure is designed to prevent the panel from deformation, to be secure in strength and to be safely placed anywhere in the home.
